Welcome to "Just Ask Elsie," a place you can read our most frequently asked metaphysical questions about how we connect with each other and our Mind, Body, Spirit -- anything from Angels, dreams, Earth changes, to a personal question.

Q: I hear so much about meditation. What is meditation?
Simply put, meditation is when you are listening to God. The opposite of meditation is prayer. Prayer is when you are talking to God. God speaks to us by sending us thoughts and ideas in many forms. We must be quiet and shut off the thinking process in our minds in order to hear the voice within that will appear as an intuitive thought or revelation. There are many forms of meditation and numerous ways to achieve a state of relaxation and quiet. They all serve the same purpose which is to simply be still and listen to what God has to say that will guide, enlighten, comfort and strengthen our spirit.
Q: So many people are now into channeling. What does it mean?
Channeling is a process in which information is accessed and expressed by someone who is convinced that the source is not their ordinary consciousness. It can be delivered via a form of telepathy, automatic writing, or directly through the vocal cords of the channel. Edgar Cayce, "The Sleeping Prophet", channeled through a source he called the Akashic record (in Hindu this is believed to be a cosmic information of all that has happened). Cayce did this while in a light sleep. Some writers or musicians say their masterpieces have came in dreams or by getting into a zone where words flow like milk and honey. We all have it at our fingertips. It's that inner voice called knowledge that is to be shared.
Q: What is so good about practicing holistic health?
It's a process where the individual takes responsibility for his or her own life and seeks the means to transform their mind, body, spirit for a better quality of health and happiness.
Q: Friendships - here today gone tomorrow. What's wrong with me?
Nothing. The best advice in the world is it's none of our business what someone else thinks as long as we do the right thing with the right intent. No one likes rejection which sometimes is the help of our angels to get us out of harm's way. Yes, we mourn the loss of a friend, but think a minute — did you disappear into that person so deeply that they considered they had ownership so they no longer had a need to respect your opinions? On a radio show once a man called in and said he was a Baptist and why did they dislike psychics so. My answer was that churches are like people: some are in kindegarden, others are in graduate school. But if they do things again with the best of their knowledge and with the right intent, they are OK. God loves and directs us all.
Yes, we have friends that use us, but be honored for in the long road maybe they will look back and say I learned so much from that person. We don't need to be there to take a bow. Sometimes people simply leave for they think we know to much about them and want to start over to eliminate that part of their life. We are a reminder of the old one they are dumping. It still means that we all pass through this life with the ability to touch many lives. "Let Go and Let God" send us all on the path to understanding and love of all God's children. Honor the bank account of friends we have had, keep all the time, or the new ones to come. Life is Cool Beans, so enjoy it all and remember you are an extension of God and that makes you very special. Love means you never have to say you're sorry no matter how short the relationship might be. Have gratitude for the now and the new day dawning.
Q: Does everyone reincarnate and what is karma?
Reincarnation means that the soul (our true self) passes to incarnate in a new birth body to experience many lifetimes. Karma is the sum of one's actions, which brings rewards or punishments upon the actor in the present life or in a reincarnation. I think we go to earth school to learn to always have a good intent behind our actions. If we do not, we have to come back till we learn love is the answer.
Q: My father says the army has a special force for remote viewing. Is this true?
Remote viewing is where you go into a conscious state where your mind goes to certain destinations and can see and gather information from a distance. The Russians where the first to utilize this during the cold war but the U.S. soon followed. The mind is a mighty tool. This is different yet similar to out of body experiences.
An out of body experience described by my professor at college was where his Mom would put him down for a nap and as soon as she shut the door he would feel his body floating where he could climb out of his crib and continue playing. Some people do this as natural as breathing experiencing the sights and sounds to wherever we choose to visit while being tethered to our natural body by an umbilical cord. I think a lot of dreams may be out of body experiences.
Q: Is it possibly to visualize your future?
Visualization means mental imagery to achieve a desired end. Bottom line, it is positive thinking that we can use in healing or achieving the wants and ambitions of our lives. Ask and you will receive is true as always, so be careful what you think! Fear creates hate, anger and all the bad things that block our earth school development. Faith on the other hand creates love that can bring about a song in our hearts. Cool Beans!
Q: May I ask what is a vortex and how does it affect us as people?
A Vortex is a place where natural electro-magnetic forces of the earth are strong. I always use the hurricanes to explain them. We know of what is called the eye of the storm -- a place of safety in a mass of turmoil. We can find a vortex within our souls when we meditate or pray for there we have the safety of God and we are an extension of him. Would he not take care of his children? Electric vortexes found in many canyons work upon our minds and bodies to promote healing and new levels of awareness. It is a connection within the creative forces of this life and our planet.
Q: What is the definition of 'metaphysical'?
I believe we are a conglomerate of all we have been taught and conceived in our brains from conception till death and I think it carries on with our incarnations. Metaphysical means to go beyond the physical to the mental cause behind our reasoning. In layman's terms — what we believe is what we manifest. If we feel deserving and things go great it is simply our imagination with faith behind it. Yet, if we believe we are undeserving we live in fear which causes nothing to go right in our lives. In other words, we get what we think. But why do we think it and how do we change to the positive? Faith in God and Love is the simple answer to all our imagination —what beautiful music it can play.
Q: The man I am living with is very much a challenge but I keep walking into what is becoming a depression. What should I do?
Sometimes we are attracted to people that we truly think we can change their way of thinking. You are not alone. We don't catch on to why they don't feel the responses we would if we were in their shoes. You cannot put a name tag on what God wants us to have and neither does he want us to waste our time being unhappy. Why don't you write a list of the things you want to do and get busy having joy in your life? Change comes from within and you deserve to smell the roses. This may kick this man into gear if he's not getting so much attention. Otherwise, decide to love yourself enough to move on.
Q: Why is my husband so jealous of the relationship I have with our children?
The old saying that parenthood makes us a family is hogwash. Getting up every morning and wanting to make everyone's day good is love. Husbands want to be first because, guess what, they don't understand they gave you all this responsibility to wipe noses, change diapers, and look into the eyes of innocence, and fall madly in love. Try to include him in this as much as possible, suggest he have a special outing each month with each child alone to meet them as an individual and help them along the path to adulthood. Make sure you also give him at least one hour a day of your attention and he will be giving you more than you can handle and I'm not talking sex. He needs his friend back, and you will see the kids get to an age when they want dad's opinion instead of yours. Please take advantage of this time to travel, relax, and volunteer for you certainly have experience.
Q: Do you believe in Angels? People tell me I'm crazy when I say I feel mine around. They suggest I get help!
Oh, yes, I know we have Gods Angels they are his messengers. I teach a class on Angels and I talk to mine daily and keep a journal with my conversations with them. Angels have been a part of every religion and culture on this earth. You do not need help. We all have our guardian Angel. We have many come in at our time of need. They are there to remind us how, with faith in God, we can see the beauty in ourselves and walk us through this thing called life.

Q: A close relative just lost a daughter in a tragic accident; how will she connect with her daughter to find peace?
I am so sorry to hear of her loss. I very much believe we all belong to God and the soul is very much eternal. Maybe we choose to leave -- it makes no difference how -- if our work on this side is complete. The soul continues on its journey, and this child is with God. My belief is that stillborns decide the timing is wrong right before birth and may come back to the same parents but when the time is right. Our loved ones are always with us in spirit and you can never loose that. Sometimes when we are left on this side there are a million things we feel we left undone. She may talk with her daughter's Angels and she will feel peace of mind. I wrote this (see Grandangel below) after the loss of my infant grandson, it rings true no matter what age a child is. Q: I have a friend, even though we haven't known each other for long, she is dear to me. I feel I have known her before. She is a very spiritual, giving and is a counselor to many but she seems to have some blocks set up that interfere with her own happiness. When and how will her life take a new direction?
I think each soul comes to earth with a contract to experience the things they need to bring them closer to their God. Some come to experience pain. Think of Mother Theresa; she was born of wealth and so was the Pope. Mother Theresa was happier in her soul by feeling the love of the people she helped when she could have been sitting in the richest part of town with beautiful clothes. The Pope wanted to do theater and did when he was young. However, he remembered Hitler very well so he chose a life of being imprisoned in a golden cage to teach that love is our salvation to the masses and will continue this till he dies. What both people learned is that, in the worst conditions, people's souls find each other through love. having the respect and love of lots of friends makes you happier than any new house, clothes or car could ever do. What is happiness? It's gratitude for life in every moment no matter what conditions life brings us. Don't worry about your friend -- she loves you very much and with each good thing even a little person can do, makes someone else catch on. And so it goes -- the world gets better little at a time. No person or condition can take away our spirit if we learn love.
